I hope everyone got a chance to do some leaf peeping the last few months! The Marsh family has successfully made it through our fall season. Whether it was your first time staying in one of our cabins or you are one of our awesome repeat patrons we are thankful you visited us over the past few months.
Now that things have settled down here at Golden Anchor Cabins, I’ve got two news articles to share with everyone in this November update! The biggest news is a major announcement regarding our Pondview cabin, plus we are responding to guest feedback.

We listened.
We acted!
Jamie and I read every email and every review on all sites to know when there is an opportunity for us to improve our little getaway. Here are a few comments that stood out to me:
Regarding our main property…
- Allan – “The road noise is a bit of a turn-off. Have you thought of planting some trees along the roadway to block that out?”
- Luv2Trvl034 – “downside was the road noise at this cabin”
Regarding Meadow cabin…
- Patricia – “the “private” hot tub was in plain view of the Baptist Church right next door”
- Nancy – “The church next door was very active during our stay”
A New Tree Line
I’m happy to say that we just completed a big property line upgrade on our main property this week. We planted a total of twenty 16′ tall White Firs on the property line bordering Rt 32. They have already made a big visual impact on the property. As these grow in they will give our guests added privacy from the road and the neighbors across the street while still allowing each cabin to have an awesome view of Mount Porte Crayon. Also, we can’t wait to see these babies with snow on their branches. I’m sure they’re going to be beautiful in the winter!
Privacy for Meadow
On November 12th, our Meadow cabin is going to get an upgrade as well. We will be taking it offline for a few days so we can complete a little privacy fence project between the cabin deck and the neighboring church. This way you can still sit in the hot tub and enjoy the view of the wildlife refuge while having a degree of privacy if the church has a function.
Since we are working back there for a few days anyway we decided it was time to replace the original hot tub while we were at it. By Nov 15th, Meadow will have a new Jacuzzi hot tub! With these upgrades, we’re confident your next visit to Meadow cabin will be the best one yet.
Say Farewell to Pondview
Ever since we transformed Hillside into Majestic in the spring of 2018 we knew the time would come that we would do a similar transformation to our Pondview cabin. That time is now looming. We have set a date to begin the extensive remodeling process to convert Pondview into our premier honeymoon cabin. We’ve got lots of surprises in store for this cabin, and we’re excited to share our progress with you!
It’s not too late…
I know there are several families out here that have loved staying in our multi-bedroom cabins over the years so we want to give everyone a last opportunity to book Pondview one more time before we say goodbye to it forever. The remodel will begin March 15th, 2020. We would love to have our families visit us this winter to say goodbye to our last family cabin.
