We stayed in the Classic cabin 5 years ago for our 15th anniversary. We are now on our 20th and decided to stay at The Meadow. It is a beautiful cabin in a great location. The cabins have everything you could ever need. It was quiet and relaxing. The hot tub was very relaxing. We will definitely be back again!

Most relaxing and enjoyable getaway we have had. Cabin was totally as advertised. Cozy, comfortable, restful. Every detail was well thought out. We didn’t want for anything. Did I mention clean. Bed was so comfortable we didn’t want to get out in the morning. The natural beauty of the area was amazing. We will definitely return.

Best cabin we’ve ever stayed in!

I can not express how much my husband and I love these cabins. We decided to try it out one year and fell in love with the experience. As a couple going on thirty years married, we don’t like to repeat vacations. With that being said we have returned every year since our first stay. This is a romantic getaway that forces you to relax. Weather you are setting by the fireplace, playing in the game room or enjoying the hot tub, you always are relaxed at Golden Anchor cabins.

This is our 2nd time staying at Golden Anchor and it was absolutely fantastic! The rooms are sparking clean and have all the amenities including a very cosy fireplace to curl up with watching TV. The shower in the Royale is to die for including the heated towel rack and heated floors. The outdoor private hot tubs in every cabin are a very romantic touch to sit under the stars with a glass of wine and relax. We brought our own food to cook meals as the kitchen has every amenity including cooking spices and coffee/filters in case you forget anything. We went hiking in the local parks nearby and had a fantastic time relaxing in the cabin. We can’t wait to come back in the fall!

We cannot stop talking about our stay at the Majestic Cabin everything was absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed every minute of our stay from the chocolate covered strawberries, the gorgeous view, the hot tub and the amazing shower. We will definitely will be back and recommend you all to everyone we talk to.

Me and my wife stayed here the week of Christmas 2019, this cabin was perfect, everything we asked for was there and we were so happy we made the choice to come up for the week and we will be back again soon to visit one of these beautiful relaxing scenic cabins

WOW!! THAT HOT TUB!!! We stayed in the Royal Cabin last year and it was amazing! This year, we were late booking and the only thing available was the Classic Cabin. Needless to say, we enjoyed ourselves just as much if not more!! That new Jacuzzi hot tub has many powerful jets and the mood lighting is perfect! We definitely felt like we had just had a massage after getting out. Thanks for making this classic cabin so comfortable!

My husband and I just stayed 2 nights in the King cabin for our 2 year anniversary. This was exactly the private, romantic, relaxing weekend away we needed! Daniel and Jamie thought of everything! The hot tub was amazing and private. The bed was super comfortable. We are in love with the sheets! The bathroom was luxury beyond words with the dual shower heads and body sprayers and the heated tile floor and the hot towel rack! Wow just wow! The couch was great to curl up on and watch movies. There were even deer in the yard in front of the cabin when we first arrived! We would like to make this our anniversary weekend tradition for years to come!

I wanted to plan a very special fall trip for my wife of 48 years… after raising three children, a demanding professional career and far too few trips for the two of us over the years. After a month of planning, searching, and comparing options, I chose Golden Anchor, the Royale; booked a week in October. She knew nothing of the details, only a trip to the mountains. She was fearful that I had booked a ‘rustic, moldy, snake infested’ cabin in the woods. Her face lit up when she stepped inside the Royale. First it was immaculately clean, most important. Next, it was handsomely decorated… ‘petals and swans’ decorating the bed, hearth alight, soft music playing and chocolate covered strawberries on the table. These were not the mail order green, sour, hard strawberries but each one perfectly ripe, sweet, juicy and delicious! How am I doing so far, dear? I told her we would ‘climb a mountain to its heights… then watch the stars come out at night.’ We did just that. Early morning trip to the Allegheny Front to see sunrise over the mountains and an easy hike, a picnic mid afternoon and back to the Royale to soak in the hot tub and watch the stars. The shower was great and some time to relax in front of the fireplace. I think she really likes it. The kitchen was well equipped and supplied… I did the cooking when we didn’t eat out. She really did appreciate that. Daniel had made arrangements for the mountain rail excursion and horseback riding… everything arranged and everything ready. Would a woman fearful of small dogs actually mount a horse for the first time in her life? Yeah! She did and she really, really likes it all!

Daniel and Jamie have a great concept and very well executed. Its obvious they go to great lengths to make their properties very comfortable for their guests. Great mountain views, clean, quite and private sets the mood for a relaxing and enjoyable time for couples to reconnect. The Royale is the most comfortable place I have ever stayed away from my own home… including five star properties in Fort Lauderdale, Key West, San Francisco, Maui, Atlanta… (but mostly with kids or in-laws in tow).

I have never written a review but we both were so impressed with Golden Anchor in every respect, I am compelled to share and to recommend this venue to those who would consider a trip to the WV mountains. We’ll definitely return at the first opportunity but whenever that is, it will not be soon enough.

Guys… don’t forget the ‘petals and swans’ and especially the chocolate covered strawberries!
