Creators Who’ve Called Golden Anchor Home
We partner with a small number of regional travel and lifestyle creators each year — hosting them at Golden Anchor and giving them full creative freedom to share what the experience is actually like.
Jamie and I built this program because we believe the best way to understand what a stay at Golden Anchor actually feels like is to hear it from someone who’s been here — not from us. Below are the creators who’ve called Golden Anchor home, and the stories they told about it.
If you create travel, lifestyle, or destination content and think Golden Anchor would be a good fit for your audience, we’d love to hear from you. We hand-select a small group of regional creators each year — reach out and introduce yourself by emailing us at goldenanchorcabins@gmail.com.

Matt and Nat are a Nashville-based travel couple who’ve built a loyal following by showing that extraordinary adventures don’t require quitting your job or living out of a suitcase. We’d been waiting on pins and needles for this one — and it was worth every bit of the wait.
From stunning mountain views to cozy cabin moments, they captured the magic of staying here and explored some of our favorite spots in the region along the way. Their stay in the Serenity Cabin turned into nearly 80,000 views and the kind of genuine, warm coverage that no ad budget can buy.
If you’ve ever wondered what a weekend at Golden Anchor actually feels like — this is about as close as you can get without being here yourself.

Tony focuses on travel, small towns, and places that don’t always make the big tourism lists. His style is thoughtful and visually sharp, and his drone work is especially strong — which really shows in this one. He caught the valley in perfect winter conditions, and the aerial footage over the ridgelines, frozen waterfalls, ski slopes, and the towns of Davis and Thomas is worth the watch alone.
He spent a few days with us while filming, and it was genuinely a great time getting to show him around and watch the project come together. One of the things we appreciated most is how many local businesses and attractions he highlighted — he didn’t just film the cabin, he showcased the entire area.
Featured in the video: Timberline Mountain, White Grass Ski Touring Center, Canaan Valley Resort, Blackwater Falls State Park sled run among other activities in the winter in West Virginia.

Kyle and Steph Shoop are a young couple building their travel presence one adventure at a time, rooted in faith, travel, and intentional living. They chose Golden Anchor for their first wedding anniversary — staying in the Majestic Cabin — and spent two days doing it right. Day one was slow mornings in the cabin, breakfast at Milo’s, coffee at TipTop, browsing galleries, live music and dinner at the Purple Fiddle, a meal at The Forks, and ending the night in the hot tub. Day two opened with sunrise views from the cabin, a few games of pool, the Lindy Point overlook, Blackwater Falls, and horseback riding through the valley.
They turned the whole trip into a series of short-form videos — and we loved seeing the place through their eyes. There’s something especially meaningful about hosting a couple celebrating their anniversary at a property Jamie and I first fell in love with on our own anniversary.
