Vintage diesel-powered locomotives climb along the cascading Shavers Fork of the Cheat River to the High Falls of Cheat. Enjoy the view relaxing aboard our comfortable climate controlled passenger coaches.

This vintage diesel-powered passenger train has gained a reputation as one of the most relaxing mountain wilderness excursions in our Mountain Rail Adventure portfolio. The 4-hour, 46 mile round trip departs at 11 a.m. from the restored Elkins Depot on Railroad Avenue.

On the trip to the Falls, enjoy an “All You Can Eat” Cold Sandwich Buffet, which is included in the ticket price. The trip culminates at the High Falls of Cheat, an 18′ high, 150′ wide waterfall located in one of the most remote and pristine settings in the region. Explore some of the state’s most remote sections onboard this unique rail excursion. Choose between the full-day trip
from Elkins or the shorter half-day trip from Cheat Bridge. Buffet lunch included for all passengers at no additional cost.
