Pittsburgh's Favorite Cabin Getaway
Golden Anchor Cabins is a scenic 3 hour drive from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Canaan Valley West Virginia. The directions are easy! Get out of town on I-79 and hop on I-68 after you cross into West Virginia. Shortly after leaving greater Morgantown you'll start to feel more relaxed as you cross into some of the most scenic highways in West Virginia and Maryland. At Friendsville, MD you again dive south on 219 through Deep Creek Lake. As you cross back into West Virginia you will pass an opportunity to stop at a significant historical landmark, the Fairfax Stone. This marker was surveyed by Thomas Jefferson's father, Colonel Peter Jefferson, and is the humble source of the mighty Potomac River. More importantly, it signifies the homestretch of your journey! 6 miles later, you'll turn onto 32 South into Thomas, West Virginia and then all the way through beautiful Canaan Valley to Golden Anchor Cabins.
