Canaan Valley Resort’s Hickory Room lunch with a view of the mountains
There awaits a wonderful dining experience just two miles from your cozy cabin here at the Golden Anchor. Drive north to the state maintained Canaan Valley Resort; turn left and drive to the resort. Go inside and enter into the Hickory Room Restaurant. It remains open year round and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
If you happen to go for lunch during the cool months, feel the warmth of the fireplace located in the middle of the room. I took my family a few weeks ago and enjoyed a remarkable lunch. I opted for the Reuben; Jamie and our son had the open-faced roast beef sandwich, and his girlfriend ordered the club. Everything tasted delicious. Jamie urged me to try her open-faced sandwich and mashed potatoes because she enjoyed it so much. Talk about tasty, the potatoes were creamy and the gravy and roast beef rich with flavor, it all melted in my mouth. While my Reuben was great, I spent the remainder of our lunch in envy of her plate.
The staff attended to our every whim and were super friendly all during our stay. Guests do not need to be staying at the resort in order to dine at the Hickory Room; Hours of operation for the public range from 7 AM to 9 PM. The ambiance, the views, the staff, the food, the service all add up to a fantastic dining experience just for you nestled in the hills above Canaan Valley in the Hickory Room just two miles from the Golden Anchor Cabins.
